Finally I have some time to post pictures of my nephew, Issacc Lim. The 2nd boy in See Family. This little bundle of joy is the source motivation to spearhead his parents to restructure their whole lifestyle just to welcome him. New house, new responsibilities, new routines and soon-to-be new jobs. Such a wonderful gift from God! Check this handsome out below: Fresh from the womb. Just a few days old with lotsa hair and pretty dark skin tone. Look at him! He's winking at this young age!!! Coming 1 month old now and shaved completely bald for custom's sake. Poor boy! But ain't he cubby and much fairer now? Yes dear, no need to pout your little mouth. You are obviously chubby. At Ist month Birthday Party. Favourite thing to do: Stick out tongue Issacc with his Mummy and Daddy. Isn't it obvious who he resembles more? At 6 month old and still pretty bald, but nice head though and handsome features Favourite pastime is drinking milk The two 3rd generation boys in See Family. Hopefully, they grow up to be buddies, always looking out for each other and develope a strong brotherhood within themselves At 7th month old and growing up to be a cheerful, healthy and chubby little toddler. Really look forward to his coming back to reside permanently with us 18 July 2010 - Wet and Cool Joshua's temperature rises again this afternoon. Our digital thermeter screamed 39.5 degrees. Sigh.... he just recovered a fortnight ago . Thanks to the dramatic weather we experienced lately! The inconsistent climatic change resulted in one of the highest HFMD outbreaks this year. Same goes to dengue fever. Children needs lotsa fluid and appropriate rest to counter these attacks. Joshua is very cranky. He cannot sleep well due to the pain he experiences. The pain comes from his throat where 5 - 6 ulcers had developed. Poor thing! He did not know where exactly these pain comes from. Hence, he keeps pointing to his head, his eyes, his nose... everywhere but his throat. Children.... they may not know how to communicate accurately. But as parents, we have to listen to them and investigate the content of what they are trying to deliver. Anyway, I just cannot bear see my son like this. So, off we went straight to NUH Children emergeny. A surprised awaited us. Not a very pleasant one though. A fever ward is set up. Only 1 parent is allowed to accompany a sick child. Hence, poor Daddy has to wait outside. We were basically confined in this tiny room for almost 2 hours. Visits from Nurses and Doc takes up about 15 minutes max. The rest of the time, we had to self-entertain . Thank God we are good at that! Cannot imagine otherwise. Joshua is very amused wearing this mask. He finds the experience very comedic. More so when Mummy needs to wear as well. Its comical and fun to him. With nothing better to do, we decided to sing and make funny faces to entertain ourselves. We even look out of the windowed-door. Just checking on our neighbours and what sort of services they are getting from the nurses. Thank God for camera phone! We had much fun taking pictures. This is the room we are confined in. Room 5. It kinda resembles the experimental ward we see in movies, you know what I mean?! White walls, beige tiles, one uncomfortable chair, a sink at a corner, a single-bed for the patient etc etc. The whole time waiting in there feels like we are on some kinda scientific experiment. Waiting for some scientist to come do something to us. Opps, making too much noice. Shhhhh.....
Joshua laughing happily. Well, it did not last too long. He dozed off in the end and Mummy had to wait alone, quietly for the doc to free us finally. Then, Mummy had to carry this 14.4kg burden outside to look for Daddy in the crowded registration and pharmacy area. Sigh! Check out my mummy's snow whites. She grew these cactus painstakingly since we were kids. And here's her reward after so many years of patience and love. These flowers start blooming after sunset. They will be full bloom at mid night and the flowers will last till the next morning before starting to wither. One good example of beauty do not last long enough.
One example of.... Picture speaks louder than words. Beautiful, isn't it? Here's how much my son had grown . Dedicated for those who had not seen him for a while. 27 Feb 2010 - Extremely HOT and HUMID At 16:15, we ride on a coach from Yew Tee MRT to downtown for dinner, then catch a boat ride across the Marina Bay to ride on The Singapore Flyers. Been a long while since I watched the road passed by via huge windows; admiring the modern architectures that filled up the little spaces we have 0n our island. The downtown I used to patrol almost every weekend as a youth, was no longer what I remembered it to be. Modern structures took over the buildings I am familiar with. Casting a strange distant-feel to a city I've grown up in. I wowed at the advancement in the construction world that created this change. Yet, I feel a little depress that my familiarity is wiped out by modern technology and designs. Memory lane is the only path I had now to reminisce my past. Thanks to the Chinese Minstry of Hebron Bible-Presbyterian Church! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The boat ride - Yup, its still CNY! That's what the flower decors are all about . The Bayfront Scenery... You have to wow at the Sands Resort. The construction-in-progress is amazing! The structures are commanding the bayfront scenery even at this unfinished stage. Really anticipating the final outcome. Ought to be beautiful.... Riding the Flyers is about 30mins of unobstructed view around the bayfront. We queued almost an hour just for our turn. Joshua was so energised at finally being released that he ran round in the capsule. See the Speedy Gonzale zeeing around.... . The captivating night scenery of our progressive and successful little island. You ought to feel proud as a Singaporean .
Finally!!! I had time to post this fabulous X'mas party. It is one of the most participated party organized in Broadcom. Much effort is put into dressing up for the theme which contributed to one huge factor for the success of this party. The thoughtful store-value ezlink card as door gift is also one of the success. No more useless giveaways which either end up in the dustbins or left on the shelves. Broadcom's 2009 Christmas party was themed "Comic Fantasy". It was set up in less than 1 month by a group of enthusiastic personnels. Venue chosen was the awesome Marina Barrage. It was kinda warm though, since we had an outdoor event this time. But, nonethless, it was fun-filled and an event worth showing off. One setback though... 5 of us in my team attended, 4 won prizes out of the 30+ lucky draws!!! I'm the only unlucky one who is not granted a glamorous shot on stage!!! One of us even won the all-time favourite Nintendo WII though . Talk about bad luck here..... The venue.... The people, the fun and games....
Taken with my almost dying antique digital camera. Here's my quiet santuary hidden in the North West vicinity, Yew Tee. Pardon the blurry image, as my camera is barely co-operating . The Lounge.... Splash with Nippon's Galaxy as backdrop, here's the place we spent most of our time. Joshua's Ark My Storage Unit Other Little Details to make it HOME....
17 July Friday was an ordinary day to most beings on earth. You woke up to your daily routine, go to work and wait for the weekend to come by. To me, its a special day. A special day that marks a rare occurence in a family. I heard 2 little dotty heart beating purposefully today. These 2 heart beats are from 2 less than a centimeter foetus. I never encountered a more wonderful occasion. It will be yet another amazing journey for me to venture on, but this time, with someone exploring the secrets with me. Well, I guess most of you are wondering if I am pregnant. YES!!! Congrats to me.... I am pregnant again. Now, you must be wondering, am I carrying a pair of twins?? WRONG!!! My younger sister is also pregnant! And, our EDD is just 1 week apart. Goodness! This is totally a surprise and a hearty one. Yeah, no doubt, my whole housewhole is going haywire ironing out the logistics on who to take care of which baby. But then, I strongly believe, we'll iron all this out and enjoy the whole process. Its such a rare opportunity to have 2 sisters conceiving almost the same time. Unbelievable!!! I am totally looking forward to Christmas next year! My family will be having a NOISY celebration. 3rd May 2009 - HOT! HUMID! WINDLESS (If there's such a word)!!! Its an afternoon of giggling.... at least for Joshua and his Daddy. They are miserably BORED and HOT at home. Its the first long weekend in May. We'r just trying to hangout at home. Well... there's a series of invitation on the 2nd long weekend. Fancy the statements huh? Yeah.... 2 long weekends in May, back to back! Lovely, isn't it? We thought we should stay home to chill-out. God! What a mistake! Its miserably HOT. So, Daddy came up with this crappy idea of playing with diapers. Of cos, Joshua is game for it. Results??? See it for yourself!
Well, well, well..... here's my 2nd attempt at the Mission Impossible task of taking Joshua's pic... one that will qualify for his passport. You know, its my 1st child's 1st passport. Of cos it has to be "perfect".... for KEEP's sake . Anyway, I picked one out of this lot in the end. Guess which ?
 | Pig Out! | May 14, '09 4:32 AM for everyone |
Joshua is about 1.5 years old now. He has not "see the world" yet. Well, its about time to get him a passport . So, one fine afternoon, I sit him in front of a clean, white wall and started snapping. Gosh.... I realised, its quite a tough call man . See the results of my 1st attempt below: Is there at least one potential passport pic ? Hmm.... will see. Yep, I admit, I am a couch potato in the weekday evenings, particularly from 10pm onwards . I just need to recommend this new series from ABC networks, Private Practice. This series is about Addison Forbes Montgomery... yes you are right, the renowned surgeon from Seattle Grace Hospital in Grey's Anatomy. I'm not quite a fan of Grey's though. And in Grey's, Addison is definitely not a character I will look out for. But then, the delivery in Private Practise is different. Disappointed with her life in Seattle, Addison decided to move south along the same coastline to settle in sunny LA where she is looking forward to a new way to re-begin her life. Of course, when reality sets in, the ideal dream she painted is not exactly what she is receiving. I guess what caught my attention was her courage to step out of her comfortable though entangled zone; to a whole new world that is in total opposite to the routine she is used to. As in Grey's, the professionals in the set are dedicated pros in their own areas. But they are human too and its their lives that need a little practise. Catch the next episode at 11pm, Monday nights, after the miraculously captivating Season 4 of Desperate Housewives. I bet you will enjoy it too . It's weeks past 2009 already . Finally, after one last final touch on the TV feature wall yesterday night, I proclaimed my renovation works settled and closed. It took 3 long months to complete... unbelievable . Yea, I know, there's still the storage systems and display cabinets to hunt. And Joshua's room is still stack with boxes of toys and bags of clothes. Well, give me some time... I'll get things organised and arranged.... slowly, in my own paced . This 2nd renovation ordeal was indeed mentally strenuous and challenging . This is credited to the fact that we bought a 12 year old house and decided to wipe out every single details of its past "glory". Mik and I realised it has many hidden secrets that are most challenging to design around. We've definitely learnt many valuable lessons. Well, at least it guaranteed many stories-telling at the coming parties we will be holding in this house. This house will hold the future of the Mikally's. The growing up of Joshua will be captured here. It will be the house that will leave the deepest impression in his young memory. With this thought, I put aside all the wonderful memories Mik and I created in Punggol, and start over in this new precinct. With this, I decided to log in my resolution for 2009 : - Settle down in a nearby Church and focus on strengthening my faith and nurturing my old worship spirit. Should I attend Hebron with my folks? Or Grace II where the worship is more pleasing to my ears?..... God, I pray for your guidance here . - Growing with Joshua: Aim to be his best friend, his mentor and his counselor. - Strategize and pathing my exit out of this material world. Let it be attending enrichment programs or joining some associations or clubs. I need to look for the "work" that will re-write my.... up-till-now.... non-contributing and uneventful life story .
Where's 601?? Here it is! Right behind Yew Tee Central Great job!!! TheTown Council is upgrading the blocks. But oops..... see the amount of debris produce by hacking down all past memory of my new acclaimed unit . My poor neighbours!
Anyway, 旧的不去, 新的不来 . So..... all OUT! Shoo!!!!!! Everything goes. The "Retro Greens" gota go. I claimed to be an ECO-friendly Greenie.... but I sure am not splashing my unit with these shades of Green.... NO NO NO!!! How can one put so much Green into one house.... I am amazed! Besides the Green thingy, the existing tiles, toilet features, carpentry and even some of the walls are cleaned out. Good job to my contractors! They tore everything down in just 3 days. Can you imagine the amount of noise and dust!!!! I'm just hoping they can replace all they teared down as fast. But then, 慢工出细货. Just crossing my fingers it will not be too 慢! See?? All teared down . And..... the currently "barrened" toilets.
My latest project - OverHaul 601 Finally, I've gotten the keys to my new apartment on 27 Sept at 601 CCK. Its been a slow, long wait. As intended, I planned to overhaul the whole apartment; tearing down every single bit of its past . YES.... the recession is untimely .... but I am set to stretch what I have to make this as perfect as my reserve allows . The demolition work started on 15 Oct . Mik and I popped up to check out. Wow.... for a moment... I thought I was transported to Acheh . Except... What a joy to see the rubbers piling! It will be a greater joy to witness the new interior forming up like puzzles. My new Manhattan Loft concept... inspired by space and serenity. Here's what I'll mimic and customized from:
I know, the cemented focal is familiar. I just can't help it though . Let's cross our fingers..... to.... All's Well, Shall End Well...... .
